hi, i'm sappy mcsapperson

this post is for no real reason. sometimes, i just think about how much i love joey. and i wanna show the nation, my appreciation (in the words of lyrical genius, Shaggy).

he is the greatest. like, spend-so-much-time-studying-at-school-so-he-can-be-a-genius-and-then-come-home-and-help-me-clean-or-do-dishes-or-play-with-Olive, greatest. and he never complains. well, sometimes i think he might not like doing the dishes all that much...but i think that is more a result of being a human being who is not a dish doing robot. folks, that's a robot programmed to just do dishes--for those not familiar with robotics. but would a robot manufactured to do that one menial, yet truly tortuous task even like dishes? probably not, but these are the questions i have for the robot makers of Japan.

so babies of mine:
i hope and pray that you'll be good at literally everything you try just like your dad. but, it's a 50/50 crapshoot. and if (heaven forbid) you are more like this gal (sorry) and just mediocre at most things, i hope you at least have his work ethic and drive. because no one tries harder to be the best than Joey Owens. and no is better at it. so he is succeeding. he is a successful person, and it isn't just because he is so blessed with all the skillz (which he is).  he also tries, too. which, your "mostly complacent with two sides of steamin' hot don't care" mother needs that balance. hard.

gracias, josé. gracias por todo, mi amor.

DWAAAAM.

this picture has never been posted anywhere but it needs to be remembered because DAT BOOTY.

is there anything cuter than my baby in a halter dress?

here's another video of Olive being cute, because could we ever truly have enough? she has done this cute thing for months where she will just yell into objects. balls. toys. books. cups. most often, cups.

she's been walking more and more, and she's also started trying to climb on things and her concern for safety seems to be on a steady decline. she can push herself up off the ground to stand, which i think is pretty impressive. she also likes to play with feet, which is unrelated, but weird and worth mention. and cute.

we have ourselves a WALKER.

not a walker as in the thing people use to well, walk, when they struggle to do so on their own. but a walker, as in a person who can walk.

she's been talking 3 or 4 steps max for the past week or so. but then, this weekend she's really been stepping it up...literally. i think she may have been waiting for an audience/she wanted to walk before Sara was gone for the next month. Olive started walking on the counter for an extended period of time. and i was in the shower. needless to say, i was a little bugged at first someone didn't push her over. because i'm literally with her all the time and she can't do big, momentous stuff like this when i'm not around. like, seriously? THIS IS WHY I DON'T SHOWER. i vow to never shower again. because she decides to do cool stuff in the 10 minutes of her WHOLE LIFE that i'm not with her.

but enough about me, Olive is a boss. she is a genius. and she is the cutest. so. there's that. and she started walking at 9 months. this...is her story.

you can hear her saying apple several times in the video. she is also wearing apples on her shirt. so she created her own theme/motivation and it's pretty great. also, look at those cute little legs. she's still a few days/weeks from making walking her default mode of transportation...but i'd say this is a step in the right direction. hehehe all the puns.
